Falcons lose annual Battle of the Oar
HARD KNOCK: As the Palmer Trinity Varsity Football team exits the field after the close loss to Ransom Everglades at the Battle of the Oar, a heartbroken Finn Zuccarini makes his way to the sideline with his team mates. Players are on their way to hear words of encouragement from head coach Mark Reese, but after such a bitter loss, it’s difficult to put it into words.

KEEPING THE BLOOD FLOWING: As practice gets started on Wednesday, the football team warms up by getting into a group huddle and doing jumping jacks and other stretches. In order to feel fit to practice for two hours, the football team always ensures that everyone is feeling loose and warmed up.

SAY CHEESE: While waiting in line to take their pictures, seniors Ali Garcia and Isa Monzayet practice their smiles with each other. Im almost 18 years old but I want my picture to capture the girl I was 10 years ago, Monzayet said. I always wore bows in my hair or had my hair in pigtails when I was little. I always had the biggest and most innocent smile on my face so I wanted to try and replicate that again.

My first ambition was to be a sports writer and cover baseball or something. Ive always liked to sit down and write and create. I was lucky. For some people, it takes a long time to figure out what they want to do but I knew from a very young age and I lucked out and it worked out for me.”

GETTING READY: While walking with his friends, Sebastian Borrero adjusts his slicked down hair right before walking into Picture Day in building 8 on Aug. 30. Because their yearbook photos are formal portraits, seniors are able to get creative on Picture Day by dressing up in hairbows, wearing funny hairstyles and more. "My mom always used so much gel on my hair when I was in elementary school, my hair was always slicked down in every school picture," Borrero said. "I wanted to bring it back for my last [school] picture."

When he's not in the kitchen, you'll find him on the football field, outdoors, or on the water fishing. Ayo is also 11th grade SGA president and spends a lot of time working on things for his grade.
