Unlocking the wonder of STEM education, students from all grades and places visited our school to participate in the SWE Next Event. One of the girl scouts of Troop 314 from Cutler Bay, Lucia Fajardo (5th grade), shares that her “group activities were really cool! My favorite person was the one who worked for Disney! I loved building the bridge at the end and eating gumdrops!” Inspired by the speeches, Lucia intends to stay involved with STEM with no hesitation.

SAY CHEESE: While waiting in line to take their pictures, seniors Ali Garcia and Isa Monzayet practice their smiles with each other. Im almost 18 years old but I want my picture to capture the girl I was 10 years ago, Monzayet said. I always wore bows in my hair or had my hair in pigtails when I was little. I always had the biggest and most innocent smile on my face so I wanted to try and replicate that again.

THE STORY OF A STORYTELLER: Hiaasen speaks to the Middle School about his experiences as a writer. “I always wanted to be a writer, I knew from a very young age I wanted to be a writer, he said in an interview with PTTV. My first ambition was to be a sports writer and cover baseball or something. Ive always liked to sit down and write and create. I was lucky. For some people, it takes a long time to figure out what they want to do but I knew from a very young age and I lucked out and it worked out for me.”

Ayo Williams is a junior at Palmer Trinity School and is a staff member for both PTTV and The Raptor. He enjoyss cooking up delicious meals in the kitchen and showing off his culinary skills. When he's not in the kitchen, you'll find him on the football field, outdoors, or on the water fishing. Ayo is also 11th grade SGA president and spends a lot of time working on things for his grade.
